ಹಳೇ ಏರ್ಪೋರ್ಟ್ ಪಾರ್ಕ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಸಿರು ಕ್ರಾಂತಿ: ಭಾರತೀಯ ರಾಯಭಾರಿ ಘನತೆವೆತ್ತ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಪುಲ್, ಪುರಸಭೆ ಸಚಿವಾಲಯದ ಹಿರಿಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಭಾಗಿ
ದೋಹಾ, ಕತಾರ್: ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಪರಿಸರ ಕಾಳಜಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಸಹಭಾಗಿತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿ, ಕತಾರ್ನ ಪುರಸಭೆ ಸಚಿವಾಲಯದ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನಗಳ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಹಾಗೂ ದೋಹಾ ಪುರಸಭೆ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಕತಾರ್ನ ಭಾರತೀಯ ರಾಯಭಾರ ಕಚೇರಿಯ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಂಘ ಕತಾರ್ (ಕೆಎಸ್ಕ್ಯೂ) ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಜೂನ್ 4 ರಂದು ವಿಶ್ವ ಪರಿಸರ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಹಳೇ ಏರ್ಪೋರ್ಟ್ ಉದ್ಯಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೃಹತ್ ಗಿಡ ನೆಡುವ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಹೊಣೆ: ‘ನಾವು ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸೋಣ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದೆ’ ಎಂಬ ಉದಾತ್ತ ಧ್ಯೇಯವಾಕ್ಯದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ 7:30 ಕ್ಕೆ ಅಭಿಯಾನ ಆರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ರಾಜತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಗಣ್ಯರು, ಪುರಸಭೆ ಮುಖಂಡರು ಹಾಗೂ ಅನಿವಾಸಿ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ನೂರಾರು ಉತ್ಸಾಹಿ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಸುಸ್ಥಿರ ನಗರಾಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಸರ ಜಾಗೃತಿಯ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಈ ಹಸಿರು ಅಭಿಯಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೈಜೋಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಕತಾರ್ಗೆ ಭಾರತದ ರಾಯಭಾರಿ ಘನತೆವೆತ್ತ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಪುಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾರತೀಯ ರಾಯಭಾರ ಕಚೇರಿಯ ಉಪ ರಾಯಭಾರಿ (ಡಿಸಿಎಂ) ಶ್ರೀ ಸಂದೀಪ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಕತಾರ್ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನಗಳ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಸಹಾಯಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಮೊಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಅಬ್ದುಲ್ಲಾ ಮೊಹಮ್ಮದ್, ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ವ್ಯವಹಾರಗಳ ಘಟಕದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಶೇಖ್ ಸುಹೈಮ್ ಅಲ್ ಥಾನಿ ಮತ್ತು ದೋಹಾ ಪುರಸಭೆಯ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮನರಂಜನಾ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಲೇಮ್ ಅಲ್ ಅಹ್ವಾಲ್ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.

ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಪಾತ್ರ ಶ್ಲಾಘನೀಯ: ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನುದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನಗಳ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಸಹಾಯಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಮೊಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಅಬ್ದುಲ್ಲಾ ಮೊಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಅವರು, ಪರಿಸರ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರ ಪಾತ್ರ ಎಷ್ಟು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ವಿಸ್ತಾರವಾಗಿ ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು. ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಈ ಸಕ್ರಿಯ ಭಾಗಿತ್ವವು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಪರಿಸರ ಗುರಿಗಳನ್ನು ತಲುಪಲು ವೇಗ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದ ಅವರು, ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಉದ್ಯಾನಗಳು ನಗರ ಜೀವನದ ಶ್ವಾಸಕೋಶಗಳಿದ್ದಂತೆ; ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಂಘದಂತಹ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಶೀಲ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಒಡನಾಟವು ದೇಶದ ಹಸಿರು ವಲಯವನ್ನು ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಲು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸಹಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ನಂತರ ನಡೆದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಘಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ, ರಾಯಭಾರಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಕತಾರ್ ಪುರಸಭೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಂಘದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಸಮಿತಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಗಿಡ ನೆಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಅಧಿಕೃತ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಇವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಿವಿಧ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಮುಖಂಡರು ಪಾರ್ಕ್ನ ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಲು ಸಾಲಾಗಿ ಗಿಡಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಟ್ಟು ಹಸಿರು ಸೊಬಗನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿದರು.
ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ಸಂಘಟನೆ: ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಂಘದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಸುಬ್ರಮಣ್ಯ ಹೆಬ್ಬಾಗಿಲು ಹಾಗೂ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಸದಸ್ಯರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಡೀ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಅಚ್ಚುಕಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಮೂಡಿಬಂದಿತು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಗಣೆಯ ಬೆಂಬಲ ನೀಡಿದ ಕತಾರ್ನ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಪುರಸಭೆ ಆಡಳಿತಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಘದ ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಆಳವಾದ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
ಕತಾರ್ನ ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಮೂಲ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು ಹಾಗೂ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಮೂಲದ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳ ನಾಯಕರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದರು. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಂಘದ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರರು ಹಾಗೂ ಐಸಿಬಿಎಫ್ (ICBF) ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ದೀಪಕ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಂಘದ ಸಲಹಾ ಸಮಿತಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ರವಿ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಲಹೆಗಾರರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಅರುಣ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡು, ಪರಿಸರ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಈ ಮಹತ್ತರ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕತಾರ್ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ಪರವಾಗಿ ನೈತಿಕ ಬೆಂಬಲವನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
Karnataka Sangha Qatar Marks World Environment Day with Plant Drive at Old Airport Park
Indian Ambassador H.E. Mr. Vipul, Embassy officials, and senior leaders from the Ministry of Municipality join hands for community green initiative.
*DOHA, QATAR*: In a resounding demonstration of environmental stewardship and civic cooperation, the Ministry of Municipality’s Public Parks Department and Doha Municipality, in cooperation with the Embassy of India in Qatar and organized by Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ), hosted a tree-planting event at the Old Airport Park on June 4 to commemorate World Environment Day.
The campaign commenced at 7:30 AM under the inspiring theme, “Let’s take care of nature, because nature has taken care of us.” The event brought together diplomatic dignitaries, municipal leaders, and enthusiastic members of the Indian diaspora united under a shared vision of fostering sustainable urban ecology.
The event was graced by His Excellency Mr. Vipul, Ambassador of India to Qatar, along with Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) at the Indian Embassy. Representing the Qatari authorities were Mr. Mohammed Abdullah Mohammed, Assistant Director of the Public Parks Department; Sheikh Suhaim Al Thani, Head of the Media Affairs Unit at the Public Parks Department; and Mr. Salem Al Ahwal, Head of the Parks and Recreation Section at Doha Municipality.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Mohammed Abdullah Mohammed delivered an elaborative speech highlighting the critical importance of community involvement. He emphasized that the active participation of the Indian diaspora significantly accelerates local environmental goals, noting that public parks serve as vital ecological sanctuaries and partnerships with proactive groups like KSQ are instrumental in expanding green cover.
The core segment featured the ceremonial planting of native saplings by the diplomatic delegation and municipal officials alongside the KSQ Managing Committee, followed by corporate volunteers and community members planting trees across designated sectors of the park.
The execution of the mobilization was seamlessly managed under the guidance of KSQ President, Mr. Subramanya Hebbagelu, along with the Managing Committee members, who expressed deep gratitude to the local authorities for providing exceptional logistical support.
The drive witnessed strong solidarity from across community leaders, apex Indian organizations, and Karnataka-based associations in Qatar. Prominent attendees gracing the occasion included KSQ Advisor & ICBF General Secretary Mr. Deepak Shetty, KSQ Advisory Chairman Mr. Ravi Shetty, and KSQ Advisor Mr. Arunkumar, all reinforcing a collective commitment to environmental vision.
